Yes. Socialheads is designed for regulated care settings and helps services evidence good practice. Every message, attachment and action is time stamped and stored on secure UK servers. Managers can easily access clear audit trails showing who communicated, when and about what. Edits are tracked, providing a transparent record that would otherwise be done manually or would be poorly monitored in other systems.
Unlike generic messaging apps, Socialheads keeps communication within approved, role-based channels. Workers use professional accounts linked to their organisation, not personal phone numbers. All interactions take place in a secure environment that supports clear accountability and safeguarding visibility for managers.
Our research shows that young people engage when a platform feels familiar, trustworthy and relevant. Socialheads was co-designed with young people and tested with children, adults and practitioners to reflect how they already communicate, including emojis, voice notes and group chats. Engagement still depends on context and the quality of the relationship, but services tell us that when workers use it consistently, young people respond well.
Practitioners across UK services report that young people usually install an app when a trusted worker explains why it helps. They already use a broad mix of apps, so a separate one is not a barrier if the design feels familiar and the benefit is clear. What matters most is whether the app offers something better than generic tools. Socialheads is designed to provide that added value and we continue to refine it responsibly based on frontline feedback.
Think of Socialheads as replacing an existing generic messaging app with something safer and more appropriate for care settings. It reduces duplication by automatically recording and storing communication. Features such as appointment reminders, message templates and compliance-based design save workers time while supporting inspection readiness.
Yes. It offers the same ease of use and simplicity but has been purpose-built for care environments. Socialheads combines familiar functionality with safeguarding, governance and reporting features that meet organisational and regulatory requirements.
All data is encrypted end-to-end and stored on secure UK servers. Message histories are only visible to the people in the conversation and, where required, any authorised staff designated by the Data Controller for safeguarding or data protection purposes.
Because Socialheads is account-based rather than number-based, a young person’s history and connections stay intact. When they log in on a new device, they can continue where they left off without losing information or breaking safeguarding continuity.
Practitioners or workers can invite approved external staff if your service chooses to allow this. Each participant's permissions are controlled, ensuring conversations remain structured, secure and compliant with organisational safeguarding policies.
