# Make a complaint

If we have got something wrong, we would rather hear it from you than not hear it at all.

**Effective date:** 19 August 2026 · **Next review:** 19 August 2027

## Who to tell

It depends who the complaint is about, and the two go to different places.

### About the service supporting you

How your information was handled, or something a worker did, is your service's to answer. Start with them, and ask for their data protection officer if it is about your information. They hold the records and the duty.

### About Socialheads

The app itself, something we did, or how we handled your information as the company behind it. That is ours to answer, and the form below reaches the person responsible for it.

If you are not sure which it is, use the form. We would rather point you in the right direction than have you stuck deciding.

## What happens next

A complaint reaches complaints\@socialheads.co.uk, which is a mailbox for exactly this and nothing else.

We will acknowledge it, look into what happened, and tell you what we found and what we are doing about it. If we got it wrong we will say so. If we disagree we will explain why rather than leave you guessing.

A full complaints policy setting out the steps and timescales is being prepared and will be published on this page.

## If you are not happy with our answer

You are not stuck with us as the last word, and you never have to come to us first.

If your complaint is about how personal information has been handled, by us or by a service, you can take it to the [Information Commissioner's Office](https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/). That is your right, it is free, and you can go to them directly.

If it is about how a service supported someone, that belongs with the service and, where it applies, their regulator or the local authority that commissioned them.
